Financial Management Workshop to help Winnemucca businesses - 07-09-2010

ABOUT:  Help for small business owners continues through smart business education, and this month’s focus on financial management promises tremendous benefit for all attendees.

Many small business owners are self employed by choice with a desire to be their own boss in an industry or profession in which they have expertise. It is not uncommon to find some of them running great businesses, but lacking a sound foundation of financial operations and understanding.

The Nevada Small Business Development Center (NSBDC) spent over one year designing a 14-hour training program designed specifically for the micro-business owners who can apply their new knowledge immediately. By applying a hands on approach, each attendee will be able to go through different case studies that will look at understanding the cash flows, fixed and variable costs, break even sales and volume levels, finding financing, managing growth, "Do's" and "Don'ts" when dealing with their banker, and much more.

Properly managing the inflow and outflow of funds in relation to the budget is essential for a business to succeed.

The program will not be available in Humboldt County for at least another year or two due to the high demand for this education across the State. Currently priced at $300, this program is offered to target rural Nevada communities for only $35 due to a training grant awarded to the NSBDC.
