On Tuesday, the Winnemucca City Council approved a zoning change for the property that will allow a Las Vegas company to move forward with their plans to build a Dotty’s casino on lot.
According to the paperwork filed with the Humboldt County Planning Department, the casino will be open 24/7. However, there will be no bar; instead, there will be tables for customers having a cocktail. There will be space between the slot machines as opposed to rows of stacked machines. Those familiar with the Dotty's casinos throughout Nevada describe the atmosphere as comfortable and home-like.
Michael Clay Construction was hired for the construction process. Michael Shephard said they might break ground mid-August and the project could take approximately five months to complete.
