Activities include cross-functional day-to-day activities in the disciplines of plant operations, controls, gas measurement, and maintenance of motors, pumps and plants associated with high pressure gas pipeline systems. Work schedules occasionally include weekends and holidays as well as after hours call-outs required by operational need or emergencies. This position requires active participation in El Paso's Safety and Environmental programs with an emphasis on finishing each day incident and injury free.
Must be willing to work in an unsupervised manner / mechanical, technical and/or electronic aptitiude
Mechanical and electrical training and practical experience in an industrial operations and maintenance sector.
Ability to operate, troubleshoot and maintain natural gas plant equipment, pumps, exchangers, compressors, and related auxiliary equipment.
Ability to operate forklifts and light industrial equipment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to read and interpret various company policies and procedures, Operations & Maintenance manual and blueprints.
Valid Driver's license and good driving record is required.
Ability to respond in a timely manner to any emergency or after-hours calls.
Basic PC computer skills and trainable to custom software applications.
Good communication skills - must be able to interface effectively with many internal and external customers, land owners, regulatory officials, company contacts and co-workers.
Manual dexterity with physical ability to work in situations which require bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching and lifting/carrying up to fifty (50) pounds. May be exposed to working in harsh weather.
