Experience and Training: Any combination of training, education and experience that would provide the required knowledge and abilities. A typical way to gain the required knowledge: Graduation from an accredited college with BA in Computer Science, or closely related field; or two years of full time experience in computer networking; or equivalent combination of training and experience. This position is responsible for the full range of Network Engineer duties, including system analysis and design. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work independently in a variety of environments. Windows server support, Windows security practices, and group policies in multi- flavored platforms.

Analyze, troubleshoot and maintain the network systems to ensure:
1. Data communication for internal departments
2. Data communications through the network to other governmental agencies
3. Offsite access in emergencies.
Train and coordinate with technical support staff in network troubleshooting procedures.
Assist with scheduling and organizing projects as required.
Analyze and identify network security issues; (CJIS security knowledge), Cisco firewall and router knowledge recommended.
Install, configure and implement network switches, routers, hubs, and wireless devises, analyze and troubleshoot problems.
Troubleshoot hardware and network infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT: Strong technical skills in Information Security and Network infrastructure. Design and define system requirements for new or existing complex multi-environment computer systems. Determine system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility. Identify, analyze and resolve program support deficiencies. Develop and recommend corrective actions. Cisco routing and switching field skills and knowledge required to successfully install, configure, monitor and support the advanced capabilities of Cisco routing and switching solutions
Special Requirements: Must be able to pass a background investigation. Possession of a driver's license or alternate means of travel.
