Job Description

 

Responsibilities include:

The successful candidate will develop, update and implement practical mine plans which allow for orderly development and exploitation of minable ore reserves. For a specific area of the mine, the Short Range Planning Engineer will coordinate all production and engineering activities, including backfill, ventilation, air/water/power, QA/QC and ground support engineering functions.

This position is at Barrick's Turqouise Ridge Mine.  Turquoise Ridge is an Underground Mine located near Winnemucca, NV.

Job Requirements

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:  To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

 

• Bachelor of Science in Mine Engineering or equivalent practical mining experience required
• Broad and practical experience in underground mining required
• Mine planning and budget  experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in project management and associated software, such as Microsoft Office, EPS Scheduler (Mine works) and Vulcan preferred.  AutoCAD a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral required
• Demonstrated capacity to execute and hold self, as well as others, accountable for results required
• Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
