Job Description
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Manage engineering consultants doing detailed engineering, design, and costing of a new backfill plant
- Provide design input to engineering consultants to ensure designs meet TRJV operating permitting requirement
- Interface with current staff and departments to obtain customer input and support of designs
- Interface with environmental department to ensure all permitting is in place to prevent delays to plant construction, commissioning and operation
- Monitor and manage the schedule for plant detailed design to ensure the project meets budgetary target for commissioning in the 3rd quarter of 2011
- After engineering design is complete, develop scope for EPCM install of system, and oversee tender and award activities
- Provide oversight and management of contractor and any subcontractor, chosen for procurement, install, and commissioning of new backfill plant
- Ensure correct procedures are followed regarding safety and environmental objectives.
- Use PMiA (Project Manager in Action) tools and procedures
- Supervise Barrick Contractor Representatives who will supervise surface and underground system installations and commissioning
This position is at Barrick's Turqouise Ridge Mine. Turquoise Ridge is an Underground Mine located near Winnemucca, NV.
Job Requirements
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related engineering degree or equivalent experience required
- Knowledge in operations, construction and project management required
- Experience with PMiA project management preferred
- Professional Engineer (Nevada) designation preferred
- Surface (civil, construction, structural steel, concrete, etc) experience required
- Underground experience (construction, structural steel, rock mechanics, concrete, etc) preferred
- Supervisory experience required
- Experience with contractors and contract management required
- Competence in MS office required. Oracle knowledge preferred
- Knowledge in project or scheduling software required
- Ability to use Vulcan and AutoCAD preferred
