Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will be a key member of the site leadership team. The candidate is responsible for interactions with regulatory agencies regarding environmental compliance and permit maintenance. Other duties include implementation of the Barrick Environmental Management System, monitoring and improvement of the life of mine closure plan, revisions to Asset Retirement Obligations, environmental training and development of site personnel, oversight of contractors/consultants, hazardous waste management, document/report preparations, promotion of community relations through sustainable development activities, and management of site capital and operating projects associated with the environment.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
B.S. in Environmental Engineering or related field required
Seven (7) to ten (10) years experience in environmental management preferred
Knowledge of Nevada regulatory environment including EPA and NDEP preferred
Ability to work as a proactive member of high functioning management team required
Supervisory skills aligned with Powerful Leadership principles required
Good fit with and ability to support our Barrick safety culture required
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and environmental data bases required; knowledge of Entropy/RIMS preferred
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing required
